NEWTON, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Five Star Senior Living (Nasdaq: FVE), one of the nation’s leading
senior living and healthcare services providers, today announced the
completion of the Bridge to Rediscovery (BTR) expansion project at The
Forum at Memorial Woods in Houston, TX. Five Star’s BTR program is a
leader in the senior living industry, drawing inspiration from the
Montessori approach to education to address the individual needs and
wants of residents with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. BTR
provides one-on-one interactions between residents and caregivers,
building on their prevailing strengths while encouraging engagement to
create fulfilling days for residents and peace of mind for families.

The BTR renovation was designed to be inviting and to support
exploration and interaction in a secure setting. Five Star’s tasteful
and comfortable updates feature new furnishings, artwork and lighting.
The centerpiece is a spacious new dining room that brings the entire
community together:

The new dining area creates a homelike environment, initiating
engagement between both residents and staff, improving overall wellness
and comfort throughout the community,” said Scott Herzig, Five Star’s
Chief Operating Officer.

BTR is the winner of multiple Argentum (formerly Assisted Living
Federation of America) “Best of the Best” awards. This prestigious
national award recognizes excellence in senior living programming.
Residents enjoy an award winning program as well as care provided by a
professional and attentive team in a community with all of the warmth
and hospitality of home.

The Forum at Memorial Woods strives to meet the current and future needs
of residents with Independent Living, Assisted Living, Alzheimer’s &
