Media Alert: Well Beyond HIV™ Exhibit Celebrates Those Aging with HIV

–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Walgreens:

WHAT:

For the first time, it’s estimated that more than half of the 1.2
million people living with HIV in the U.S. are over 50 years old.
In New York, 47 percent of people diagnosed with HIV infection are
age 50 years old or olderi. New York’s longtime
survivors say the “graying of HIV/AIDS” creates a new set of
unknowns, as many are living more than 20 years beyond original
expectations.

Well
Beyond HIV™
art exhibit provides a glimpse into the lives of
older adults living with HIV through portraits and testimonials.
The exhibit makes its New York debut Nov. 19 with a special
opening reception in support of POZ
100 list, which also profiles long-term HIV survivors. The
reception is open to media and will take place Thursday, Nov. 19,
from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET. The exhibit will be open to the
public on Nov. 20 and 21.

at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Germantown, Pa., where she
hosts HIV testing events and delivers sermons to combat HIV stigma
in the church

– Orlando Francisco Reyes: Miami-based Well Beyond HIV™
