— Students return to online public school August 16th—
SPRING HILL, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Students at Insight
School of Kansas (ISKS), a tuition-free, online public
school, will begin their 2016-2017 school year on August 16 thankful for
a place where they can learn in a way that’s right for them. Students
attending ISKS come from diverse backgrounds, many of them needing a
different setting than the traditional brick and mortar schools.
Kansas students in grades 7 through 12, as well as qualified adult
learners, are welcome to attend ISKS. The school’s comprehensive
education approach focuses on providing students with the academic,
social and emotional support needed to succeed in school and beyond. The
online learning environment allows students with unique educational
needs to work at their own pace within parameters, giving them time to
progress faster in subjects at which they excel, while spending more
time on subjects and lessons where they need more help.
ISKS excels in providing targeted support for struggling students of all
ages. The Adult Learner Program gives those in the Kansas community an
opportunity to complete their high school diploma no matter how long ago
or at what point they left. No matter the reason, ISKS is dedicated to
helping adult learners graduate while still giving them the
opportunities to meet their personal, family and job responsibilities.
“Our job is not to judge the students or their families who come to
ISKS,” said Cassie Barton, head of school of Insight School of Kansas,
“We understand that everyone’s background and their struggles are unique
and our goal is to help each student meet their academic goals.”
At ISKS, state-certified teachers provide instruction, guidance and
support, and regularly interact with students and families via email,
web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face
meetings. This ensures that students and their families feel supported
yet challenged in their education in a way that may be different for
Earlier this summer, ISKS challenged enrolled families to prevent summer
‘brain drain’ by offering students free access to LearnBop,
a self-paced solution that simulates a one-on-one, personalized math
tutoring experience. The award-winning online program will continue to
be available free of charge throughout the fall and can be used
alongside the regular math curriculum to build math skills or prepare
for high-level exams.
