The North Face Opens Store at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, California

Grand Opening Events include first West Coast Mappy Hour
April 28 – Sunday May 1, 2016

ALAMEDA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The North Face, the world’s premier manufacturer of outdoor apparel,
equipment and footwear with a mission to inspire a global movement of
outdoor exploration, today announced it will open a new store serving
the community of Palo Alto, California. The new store will be located at
180 El Camino Real, Suite 1240, in the Stanford Shopping Center, across
the street from its previous location of 24 years.

The Palo Alto retail location is a new store pilot including a large
digital window display featuring rich brand content. Interior “sky
windows” will feature artistic, atmospheric content curated by The North
Face athlete, Renan Ozturk. The 6,500 square foot space will highlight
localized, community elements and expertise as well as authentic brand
DNA including global athletes, a curated product assortment of Mountain
Sports, Mountain Athletics and Mountain Culture. At the heart of the
store stands a reinvented, salvaged Redwood tree.

“This weekend’s celebration events are aimed at engaging people
throughout the community in the activities we are so passionate about,”

Community Mappy Hour and Pre-Opening Party. The Mappy Hour will be led
by OutdoorFest, and will allow participants to share info and plan
trips for local runs, hikes and climbs.”

Throughout the weekend, The North Face will be showcasing The North Face
Virtual Reality (VR), providing a completely immersive, 360-degree 3D
video and audio experiences that places viewers right in the middle of
iconic outdoor landscapes, such as Moab, Yosemite and Nepal, with
complete freedom to look around in any direction and experience every
moment as if they were actually there. The grand pre-opening party will
also feature a photo booth, food and local craft beer, and a DJ.

Movie Night, featuring the “Valley
” including a Q&A with The North Face athletes Peter Croft
and Matt Segal. Outdoor viewing, seating and popcorn will take place on
the 2nd level of the parking garage behind the store.

Saturday, April 30 – 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Run with The North Face
athlete Dylan Bowan. Try on shoes and enjoy some local food and beverage
after the run.

Sunday, May 1 – 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Join The North Face
climbers Peter Croft and Matt Segal for a group climb session. Meet at
the store at 9:30 to enjoy snacks and join the bus to Planet Granite
