USAgencies Helping Kids Learn about Entrepreneurship Through Lemonade Day While Celebrating 20 Years in Business

NEW ORLEANS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–For the fifth consecutive year, USAgencies stores across Louisiana will
be hosting hundreds of kids as they set up and operate their stands for
Lemonade Day – a nationwide philanthropic event that helps youth ages
4-18 learn about entrepreneurship through operating a lemonade stand.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 30th beginning
at 10:00 a.m. Concurrent with its participation in Lemonade Day,
USAgencies is celebrating its 20th year in business as a
proud member of the Louisiana and Alabama communities.

Darrin Silveria, Chief Sales Officer of Confie (USAgencies’ parent
company), stated: “Lemonade Day is a terrific event, and as USAgencies
is one of Confie’s top performing brands, I am proud it is setting a
standard for philanthropy and community involvement. As USAgencies
celebrates 20 years in business this year, it is a great time to give

Upon registration for Lemonade Day, youth participants are given a
workbook containing 14 lessons about entrepreneurship that they can
review with a parent, teacher, or other mentor. The lessons teach
children how to set goals, develop a business plan, secure an investor,
create a product, make a profit, and give back to the community. Once
kids have studied the lessons, they are ready to open their first
business: a lemonade stand. For the event, Lemonade Day leadership
partners with municipal Health Department officials to request a one-day
waiver for permits.

With their lemonade stand earnings, kids are taught to spend a little,
save a little, and share a little, donating a portion of their proceeds
to a local charity of their choice. After covering their expenses and
paying back their investors, the program encourages children to open a
youth savings account.

“We are pleased to participate in Lemonade Day again this year,” said
Kenneth Champagne, Business Unit Leader for USAgencies. “We’ve been
involved in this event since 2012, and it’s become a favorite tradition
for the company. It’s rewarding to support kids as they learn important
life and business skills. And because Lemonade Day coincides with
USAgencies’ 20th anniversary, it is especially gratifying.”
