Retailer Showcases Regional Makers and Artisans

BROOKLYN, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Home furnishings retailer West Elm announced today that it will open its
first Idaho store in downtown Boise on Thursday, June 9 at 10 a.m.,
bringing approximately 30 new jobs to the area. The
14,158-square-foot-store features West Elm’s unique fall assortment for
modern living as well as a signature Design Lab with complimentary
design services.

Rooting itself in Boise, West Elm incorporated wooden “Tater Blocks”
salvaged from the renovation of Simplot’s Caldwell-based potato storage
facility into the store’s custom interior design. The blocks, once used
as industrial flooring for potato storage facilities, have been
repurposed to create a unique art installation at the new store.
